When a relaxing Sunday is all you can think about, it’s easy to accomplish in Auckland. Couple that with an overcast, slightly rainy day and you have the makings of the lazy day of dreams.
With the weather making us want to hibernate we headed over to the Sofitel Viaduct Harbour to pamper ourselves within an inch of our lives.
Robing up and with time to kill before our treatments we spent some time getting rid of our colds in the steam room and sauna before heading to the relaxation room.
With a Swedish Relaxation Massage and a Fundamental Sothys Facial under our belts the next stop on our lazy day agenda was lunch. A stalwart on the Mount Eden Village brunch scene is the much loved The Garden Shed.
By this point the sun had graciously decided to show its face so we pulled up an outside table and ordered some brunch classics.
Italian Baked Eggs, pomodoro, basil, chilli and feta with toasted sourdough.
And a Best Ugly Benny with crispy cavolo nero, poached eggs and hollandaise with streaky bacon.
Topped off with the dessert to end all desserts………
Apple Skillet Pie baked to order with vanilla bean ice cream and pouring cream – laced with cinnamon and a crispy pastry we burnt our tongues because we couldn’t wait for it to cool down.
I’d say that was a pretty successful lazy Sunday, wouldn’t you?
